Shi’a Islam is one of the main schools within the Muslim world. The term “Shia” comes from Shiʿatu Ali — the party of Ali — reflecting our belief that Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS), the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet ﷺ, was designated by Allah to be the rightful successor. Islamic Info Center
Here are the core beliefs in simple terms:
1. Tawhid — Oneness of God
Like all Muslims, we believe in one God who is unique, without partner, and the source of all existence.
2. Divine Justice (Adalah)
Shia Islam emphasizes that Allah is just and fair — and humans are accountable for their choices. Mizan Institute
3. Prophethood (Nubuwwah)
We believe in all Prophets from Adam to Muhammad ﷺ, who delivered Allah’s final message to humanity.
4. Leadership (Imamah)
After the Prophet ﷺ, Allah appointed divinely guided leaders — the Imams — to guide the community. This is a defining belief in Shi’a theology. Islamic Info Center
5. Day of Judgment (Ma’ad)
All humans will be resurrected and judged according to their deeds.
Through understanding these beliefs, we build a stronger relationship with Allah and a clearer perspective on our faith.
